Pics of Pumpkins

Smashing Pumpkins at The Fillmore in San Francisco 07/27/07. Yep. They are my favorite band and I've seen them five times now.

Waiting for the Fillmore to open.

The Stars of Track & Field from Portland, Oregon were the opening act. They were actually very good. Two guitarists a drummer and a Macintosh made up the band. I liked 'em. They rocked well and harmonized vocals well between all three members.

The Smashing Pumpkins came on with great applause and played a new song. Billy Corgan had a harmonica for this one. He's looking like Bob Dylan when he played the Fillmore.

Ginger Reyes of the Halo Friendlies is the new bass player. She is a really good backing vocalist for the Pumpkins. She played beautifully with a small sway back and forth.

The stage lights were awesome.

Jeff Schroeder formerly of the the Lassie Foundation is taking up James Iha's role in the Pumpkins. At first I worried that he would just play whatever Billy wanted, but he had some good lead guitar work. They played off of each other well during the rock jams.

It was really a great Smashing Pumpkins show. They played songs from all of their albums and about 4-5 new songs that were written after Zeitgeist. It is an awesome rock album. I'm so glad the Smashing Pumpkins are back. Love that Doomsday Clock song and That's the Way. After two encores, they ended the show by doing an epic freestyle jam song.
